The technology company Teamleader has recently launched a new open API for developers in which it promotes collaborative work and improves the functionalities of its solution and favoring the integration of innovative own and third-party applications.
The development of the new API responds, on the one hand, to the prevailing need of the company to update its system due to its strong growth, of 100 clients when it was born, and to more than 7,000 distributed throughout Europe in just 5 years and , on the other hand, to the objective of implementing a co-creation process with clients, external developers and other professionals that help improve the API with their comments and feedback, achieving, in turn, expanding the Teamleader ecosystem.
The great bet of Teamleader continues to be to implement a smarter way of working
"We would like to thank all the professionals and users who shared their experiences and comments with us because they played a fundamental role in the design of our new API. We believe that it is important to carry out this process together and build a final product with our users and for our users," explains the Teamleader technical team of developers.
From product to platform
"Our team of developers applied the 'Documentation first' principle that ensures that all the specifications and properties of the API are clearly defined so that external developers can use this documentation in the future," explains María Abad, Marketing Director of Teamleader.
The great bet of Teamleader continues to be to implement a smarter way of working. In this sense, its new API reverses the roles when it comes to building integrations. Until relatively recently, the company's own developers had the knowledge and control to create integrations. Now with the open API, external developers can work in real time and create their own integrations. The previous API passes from the final product to become a living and flexible platform that will continue to be developed and expanded to respond to the requirements and needs of customers.
According to María Abad, Marketing Director of Teamleader: "The new API favors the creation of integrations and, at the same time, an exponential growth of our Teamleader Marketplace with which we set the first steps towards the construction of a European SME community to join smart work, digitalization and grow your business competitively."
