The first medical recruitment-dedicated platform in Romania, MEDIjobs.ro, has recently received its first round of financing for 2018 and hopes to put it towards expanding its activities throughout the entire country to more clinics and hospitals that can benefit from their aid.
Now more than two years since its founding in 2015, the company has been evaluated at over €1 million.
“We started trying to attract investment almost a year ago. It was not a simple process because we wanted to make this transaction without holding back the team from their daily responsibilities of recruiting for MEDIjobs clients," said Catrinel Hagivreta, co-founder and CEO of MEDIjobs.
The mission of MEDIjobs was always to increase retention of medical specialists in the country, as well as better the offered health services. This is done through improving the recruitment process as well as the experience for both the hiring company and the applying candidate.
Hagivreta added, “In 2017, the company exceeded the financial predictions and we managed to hire over 150 doctors and nurses in Bucharest, Constanta and Cluj. At the same time, the revenues in the first 3 months of 2018 are almost five times larger than in the first three months of 2017, so this year will be excellent for the company. Our objective in 2018 is to double last year’s turnover.”
Actively looking for a job can be challenging for medical specialists, mostly because of the huge gap between the candidate's profile (like their "their professional experience, competence and skills, salary demands or the preferred organisational environment"), and what's actually being offered.
MEDIjobs only shows candidates offers that match up appropriately with the expertise of the candidate - shrinking the time spent job-hunting and weeding out unnecessary applications on both ends. Furthermore, all of the services that MEDIjobs provides are of no cost.
MEDIjobs, according to co-founder George Hagivreta, aspires to keep improving as they continue into 2018 through the integration of artificial intelligence in their existing algorithm, and further down the line doubling the amount of employees currently specializing in recruitment. Lastly, they hope to extend their services to the pharmaceutical sector due to high demand as well as the large number of professionals in that branch with the same needs.
