The website for startups offering vacancies to job seekers and investment opportunities for angel investors, AngelList, has recently reported that the amount of "crypto job" openings since the start of 2018 had doubled, according to their weekly newsletter.
Earlier on, AngelList predicted a large uptick in those crypto jobs - they had a post called “How to Get a Job in Crypto”, and posited that by 2017 there would be over 1200 crypto job postings. That number is on its way to being broken this year.
Furthermore, the newsletter mentioned that Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) was increasing in popularity in March - a sign that cryptocurrency hedge funds may be sneaking in and taking over for venture capital investors in the new investment model.
A spin-off of AngelList, CoinList, which is a platform for "token-based financial services with an emphasis on complying with regulation", recently secured $9.2 million in its initial funding round that took place at the beginning of April.
In the aforementioned newsletter, AngelList noted three companies hiring in the field of “Decentralized Finance,” three in “Security Hardware,” and three in “Decentralized Internet.” In December 2017, Cointelegraph additionally wrote about the various new kinds of job opportunities in crypto in 2018, such as development, law, and design.
