The Blue Whale Foundation has high hopes of creating a "decentralized environment for freelancers" where self-employment can be not only beneficial, but secure as well.
According to the foundation, both the gig and sharing economies are flourishing - but the growing population of freelancers have faced countless obstacles. Part of the issue is that those working for peer-to-peer platforms such as Uber or Airbnb are often not actually counted as "employees".
Forbes reported that freelancers will compose over 50% of the US workforce within a decade, and it means a revolution on worker treatment is going to be necessary.
The hope is that by using The Blue Whale Foundation’s WORK (Worker Optimized Reward Keeper) system, decentralized apps can launch their own Blockchain platforms.
