Indeed.com, noteworthy job website, recently introduced a new platform aiming to reduce bias in employers during the hiring and evaluation process and make it more objective.
Using technology from Interviewed, a startup acquired by Indeed in 2017, the platform provides brief tests and simulations in order to gauge a candidate's skill sets and measure them. Indeed Assessments come with over 50 pre-built test modules within categories of cognitive, computer job skills, and language. Employers are welcome to build their own custom modules as well, however.
Once an employer chooses which assessments to use, they can be added to an Indeed job posting. Alternatively, they can be sent directly to candidates via integrations with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) such as Workable or Taleo. Indeed says the tests were designed by "experts" and provide data-driven evaluations with the help of machine learning.
According to Indeed, these tests should help erase bias and develop a more consistent applicant evaluation processes.
