Public-service job candidates in Singapore may have their data compromised after a malware scare that attacked an outsourced Australian-based vendor. Those who use the [email protected] portal, which offers a list of public-service vacancies and accepts applications for them, were alerted to the data breach by email recently.
"At this stage, the vendor has not seen further sign of suspicious activity. The malware has been contained and the threat eradicated," the e-mail from [email protected] stated.
The portal itself is managed by PageUp, the Australian HR software firm that is used by multiple universities, banks and the Tasmanian government.
It provides recruitment and career software for companies to create a website portal that lets them publish job openings, receive applicants’ resumes and shortlist applicants.
A spokesman for the Public Service Division, which oversees the portal, said: “We are currently investigating and obtaining more information from PageUp.”
