A listing on Rightmove promoting a private owner’s raffle for a castle has been removed.
The listing, which had a price of £2.7m, was put up by Sussex-based Get An Offer, which describes itself as an online quick sale estate agent working on a no sale, no fee basis.
Rightmove stated it will also be reviewing all Get An Offer’s other listings, while the agency itself has also launched its own investigation.
The reader who drew attention to the firm’s listings calculated that at the weekend 64% of Get An Offer’s total inventory listed on Rightmove had been price-reduced.
On Zoopla at the weekend, there were fewer price reductions by Get An Offer, with some 26 of the properties showing as having been reduced – about a quarter of the agent’s 104-strong inventory.
Some of the price changes appeared to show not only reductions but increases.
