Purplebricks has once again argued with their rival Emoov over an advertisement. This time, Emoov has claimed to be rated "the UK’s number one hybrid estate agent”, a claim Purplebricks has made many times themselves.
Emoov's Russell Quirk said they found out about the Purplebricks anger after marketing director Ed Hughes came forth to say that Purplebricks was in fact the number one hybrid estate agent.
A large part of the debate is the validity of Emoov's claim, as their source is AllAgents, a site that Purplebricks has clashed with in the past as well. Emoov did contact the Advertising Standards Authority to make sure their advertisement was in the clear. The group replied that Emoov was in the clear.
“With Purplebricks’ own track record at the Advertising Standards Authority, you’d have thought they’d be the very last people to try this on,” Quirk said. “It’s playground bullying. Talk about pots and kettles.”
