The Matamata founders that created one of the top online career platforms for New Zealand have set their eyes on an Australian expansion.
Career Central was co-founded by a Matamata College career advisor and a Year 12 student. It is now used in 58 schools across the country.
Two Australian schools will begin using the programme in 2019.
The company was founded in 2012 when Tim Hampton, then in Year 12, designed a programme to collect information for school sports days.
"There was just carnage with all this information coming in a short period of time, I built a tool to manage that," he said.
After seeing how well it worked his college careers adviser Susan Hancock asked Hampton to create a database to manage students' career preferences.
Hampton created a career management platform for student desktops, and eventually migrated it to a web portal so they could access it from anywhere.
