Following the global demand for freelancers, Moonlighting has recently announced that they will begin their international expansion starting with Canada and hopefully into the rest of North America following. The freelance hiring platform will integrate Canadian recruitment and temp workers to highlight and utilize the options of the gig economy alongside quick and easy hiring solutions.
Since 2015, Moonlighting has partnered with the top News Media companies in the US (Gannett, McClatchy, Tribune Publishing) to promote its on-demand hiring solution in over 150 news media sites including the Chicago Tribune, LA Times, Miami Herald and USA TODAY.
Starting in August, freelancers and recruiters in Canada will be able to participate in the platform and engage over 650,000 freelancers throughout North America. Leading local media companies will also introduce Moonlighting’s on-demand hiring platform throughout the country via top news publications in Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Windsor, and Vancouver.
The expansion to Canada is just the first phase of the company’s larger plan to incorporate blockchain technology into its platform to meet the growing demand for freelancing worldwide and expand to Europe later this year.
Additionally, Moonlighting recently announced a Reg CF crowdfunding campaign that provides the opportunity for freelancers and other gig economy participants to own a stake in the company.
“Moonlighting continues to attract freelancers from all around the globe who are seeking a place to showcase their skills and talent,” shared Jeff Tennery. “Thanks to the success we have enjoyed in the US, we now have a freelance solution that can extend beyond the border and include talented Canadian freelancers.”
