Hostelworld, online hotel booking platform based out of Dublin has appointed a new chief financial officer in the wake of the company's results for the first half of its financial year, having been impacted by the "increasingly competitive" European market, even with bookings on its platform on the rise.
TJ Kelly will join the group, which is behind a hostel-focused online booking platform, from 21 November 2018. He is currently chief financial officer in Glanbia's performance nutrition division.
He said: "I am delighted to be joining Hostelworld at such an exciting time. It is an incredibly interesting business that has been at the forefront of the online travel industry for almost 20 years."
The news comes as Hostelworld reported a dip in turnover for the six months to 30 June 2018. Revenues slipped to €42.6m from €46.6m for the same period last year.
