Javier Campos, Vice President of the Wadhwani Foundation in Mexico, explained that this 15 year old organization seeks to promote business projects in various areas to grow employment globally. For Mexico, they have focused on the manufacturing sector due to the high potential in the valley corridor of Mexico and the national shoal.
It is worth mentioning that this foundation will seek to collaborate with startups, entrepreneurs, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in 25 countries including Mexico. They seek to create 10 million jobs in the next 10 years.
Campos indicated that a Mexican presence was decided on due to the maturity of the market and to join in with Brazil the Latin American nations that have most stood out in the presence of entrepreneurs and SMEs, which require certain pushes to consolidate their products.
He also explained that they base their work on various projects of accompaniment, training, teaching, advice, and use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence.
In the case of companies already standing, they are invited to register for the Advantage Network program, where at the beginning their status is analyzed for consolidation problems found, attitude towards the market, processes to reduce resources, and help them to learn how to overcome their obstacles.
This model, among its areas of work, seeks the transformation of SMEs within 3 to 6 months and an accompanying support of about 36 months, based on the use of its Genie platform.
The specific sectors that will accompany Mexico are the automotive, aeronautical and electrical sectors; SMEs will be selected and supported in the first half of the year; for the second semester it is expected to move to a job with SMEs and tourism startups, as the second business hub is launched in the country.
In 2019 it will seek to select 200 companies whose profits are between 1 to 15 million dollars and that in a short term can generate about 5 thousand jobs. 1,000 startups and entrepreneurs will also be selected in the next two years.
