AutoScout24 out of the Netherlands will, at a yet to be determined date, relaunch their Prijscheck online tool. The tool will be improved so auto dealers can become better acquainted with the feature and only in the second instance customers.
Country manager Gómez y Maseland says that the reintroduction will be accompanied by "more policies". For example, text and explanations are given at customer events. The colors and labels have also been adjusted: the color red and the term 'too expensive' have been deleted. From now on only three colors of green are used and two shades of gray.
At the end of November 2017, Autoscout24 decided to remove the online tool from the web two weeks after the introduction - "temporarily". From the industry there was sharp criticism of the tool at the time, which informed both buyer and seller on the basis of 72 criteria whether an occasion was priced, cheap or in line with market conditions. Transparency should benefit both the provider and the end customer. However, Bovag members felt that it was insufficiently clear how Autoscou24 determined which label a car received. Even with the outcomes of the Prijscheck, many Bovag members did not agree.
