An auction company from Alabaster, Alabama recently created a new portion of their company that caters to antique and muscle car fanatics who want to sell their cars but not have to deal with shipping them across the country to a national auction.
Online auctioneer Chip Pearce of Pearce & Associates Auction Company has started BidWinCruise.com, which allows users to consign their cars and have them marketed and sold online. The service also provides appraisals and expert evaluations.
“Collectors have jumped on the concept because in the past, many had to ship their cars to the big classic car auctions like Barrett-Jackson or Mecum,” Pearce said. “Those are great events, but it can cost thousands to ship a car to them for an auction, then ship it back if it doesn’t sell. With BidWinCruise.com, sellers almost anywhere can keep their cars where they live, show them locally, and get them sold.”
Pearce will display some of the cars at the Birmingham World of Wheels event Feb. 8 through 10 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center.
“This opens up a much wider market for smaller and regional collectors who are more comfortable having their car in an auction of a few dozen rather than hundreds,” Pearce said.
