If you live in New York and are looking for work in construction, there's a new app to help make that happen.
“It's a first of its kind in that it is strictly for the construction industry, locally in Buffalo and WNY,” said Construction Exchange of Buffalo and Western New York Workforce Coordinator, Nate McConnell.
The free workforce hiring application is called “Conex,” and it allows job seekers to search local construction job openings.
Creators said it’s a hybrid between linked in and job sites like indeed. “You can message the companies right through the app. You can create your profile, look at the postings, save a job, or apply directly through there,” McConnell explained.
The Construction Exchange of Buffalo and Western New York came up with the concept for the app. The trade association is made up of some 900 construction companies across the area. They conducted a survey of its members. The results found hiring was a major issue.
