PwC persists in enriching candidate experience with grad recruiting

The PwC audit and consulting firm launches GameChangers, an online game integrated with its recruitment strategy. This new fun experience, focused on young graduates, is part of an ambitious recruitment plan and in line with innovative initiatives such as its virtual escape game launched in 2016, the immersive experience "Get on board with PwC", and more recently a platform where candidates can exchange with the firm's Ambassadors.

GameChangers: when gaming is part of the HR strategy

GameChangers matches the codes of the younger generation and surfs the trend of gaming that is gaining momentum in the recruitment industry.

Thanks to this new fun experience, the candidate plunges into a 360 world to discover PwC through puzzles and challenges.

In concrete terms, the video game is divided into three worlds:

  • The tech room: it highlights the technology as well as the cybersecurity and data professions
  • The Energy Room: a space where the candidate can recharge his energy. It is based on PwC's internal program "Be well, work well" which has been working for one year for the well-being of employees at work and outside.
  • The Strategy Room: This is the cockpit. The player makes strategic decisions that echo business strategy topics, finance and risk management.

In this way, the game challenges the candidates and encourages them to show their taste for the challenge, to deploy their thinking skills and to make strategic decisions. The game also highlights the team spirit that is a strong value at PwC, as well as the variety of its expertise. With GameChangers, the firm aims to attract more diverse candidate profiles by introducing them to the PwC universe in a different way.

The aim is to gain visibility on all of the firm's historical businesses, but also to attract candidates in areas such as risk management consulting or cybersecurity or data analytics professions. The goal is to reach 300 employees in 3 years in this last activity.

Each year, PwC recruits 2,000 people, more than three quarters of whom are recent graduates or trainees. In 2019, the firm's ambition is to recruit 550 trainees and 850 young graduates.

"This is an original way to break the somewhat rigid image of an audit and consulting firm. We want to surprise the candidates and arouse their curiosity, as a sort of teasing of what they will find at home," says Sophie Dagnaud, Employer Brand Manager at PwC. "We invite them to explore a universe that resembles us through our values ​​and our missions and we open a door to the future by appealing to the imaginary so that they can project themselves."

PwC pursues innovation-focused strategy

Through this online game, PwC affirms its culture of innovation. In parallel, the firm recently launched a platform accessible from its Careers site and the firm's Facebook account, which puts candidates in touch with 20 selected ambassadors. They are responsible for answering all their questions (advice for maintenance, trades, PwC culture ...).

Already in 2016, the firm launched a virtual escape game called Out Of The Box. The operation was a real success with more than 10,000 participants and was awarded with the Silver Digital Communication Award of the Grand Prix of Creativity RH ACCE. Since then, the escape game has been integrated into the process of recruiting candidates for the audit profession.
