Saba Software, a global leader in employee-focused talent management and recruiting solutions, has recently published the results of the Recruiting X.0 study. The firm surveyed 136 European and North American companies on developments and technology trends in recruiting. The results make it clear that companies are increasingly placing candidate requirements at the forefront of the recruiting process. Additionally, in order to improve recruitment processes, around three quarters of respondents want to invest more in modern recruiting technologies.
Candidate acquisition is increasingly taking place over social networks
Many companies continue to rely on well-known digital channels to recruit qualified employees. For example, 85-89% of respondents said their company uses job boards such as Indeed or its own website to gain a candidate. However, digitization is clearly shifting these trends towards more innovative technologies: the channel, which is the third most popular candidate, is now social networking (76 percent).
Only recruiting components matched to candidates are up-to-date
In addition, the study asked what companies are particularly interested in recruiting. More than half of the respondents said that responsiveness and candidate engagement are the most significant in recruiting. By contrast, time savings play only a minor role in attracting talent for almost half of the study participants. Candidate needs come first for the majority of companies, while efficiency considerations are secondary. This shows that only recruiting procedures tailored to people and their requirements are really up-to-date.
Innovative technologies, such as machine learning or artificial intelligence, are currently used by many companies with caution. However, companies are increasingly recognizing how they can leverage advanced software solutions to deliver a recruiting process tailored to their needs. In the future, 74 percent of respondents want to invest in recruiting technologies to further improve their processes.
"Especially the traditionally afflicted German middle class is cautious when it comes to reconsidering well-tried recruiting practices. However, more and more customers see an investment in innovative recruiting technologies as a meaningful and important next step to optimize their recruiting," says Peter Wiedemann, CEO Talent Acquisition at Saba Lumesse.
Artificial intelligence does not replace people, it supports them
In addition to technology solutions, companies want to strengthen candidate sourcing and team quality in the future. Both points are mentioned by more than 70 percent of the respondents and thus complete the top 3 investment goals.
For recruiters, the study also provides two reassuring insights: 69% of respondents consider outsourcing inappropriate to improve recruiting processes. Even in artificial intelligence (AI), only one in seven respondents sees a substitute for manpower. On the other hand, three quarters of the study participants perceive KI as support in the recruiting process.
