Lockvin Limited recently reporting that for every ten vehicles sold in Ghana, seven of them had already been involved in an accident. Lockvin Limited, has created a mobile app, HUCA, to let consumers know the car they're interested in has been previously owned or in an accident.
The Founder of Lockvin Limited, Kofi Agyapong, stated that consumers in Ghana have been buying used cars without realizing it. Their new app will help accurately report the status of the vehicle.
HUCA will be able to appraise the status of used vehicles and motorcycles by collecting information about the vehicle. This will include the odometer setting, mileage, structural issues, and any other forms of damage.
The app will also keep track of any major events with the car including accidents, theft, and other issues. If a vehicle a consumer is interested in has any of these problems, the app will report them.
Lockvin has access to all this information thanks to several partnerships with over 30 private, government, and regulatory organizations. This gives the company access to the records on over 5 million cars.
Consumers can put a VIN into the app and run through a vehicle's information. The app reveals a quick summary for the consumer to easily run down all issues and events.
Agyapong stated, “If a vehicle [has been in an] accident, HUCA presents to the user 10 images of the accident, damage type, odometer reading and status, auction history, condition of the vehicle, safety recall information and many more.”
The app is currently available both on Google Play and the Apple Store as well as through app's website.
