Recently, the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) organized a meeting with stakeholders to prepare for the launch of Kora, its new job listing platform.

Kora is designed to facilitate job seekers to find suitable employment by generating employment information, linking them with potential employers as well as offering employers with information that can enhance the efficient use of human resources in their organizations.

Kora was developed by RDB in collaboration with the German Development Corporation Agency (GIZ) under the joint Rwanda-German Eco-Emploi (Promotion of Economy and Employment) program.

The meeting convened stakeholders from government institutions, private employment service providers and companies.

Elodie Rusera, the RDB Chief Skills Officers presided over the meeting.

In her opening remarks, she said that, “the role of ICT solutions in employment services is critical in attaining and connecting job seekers to employers as well as providing information to the many users within the job creation eco-system.”

She added that, “the objective of establishing a well-functioning public job portal is to improve outreach and quality of public employment services which eventually results in job-matching.”

Faustin Mwambari, the Director General of Labor and Employment at the Ministry of Public Service and Labor said that the portal comes at a suitable time when statistics show that the unemployment rate is high among the youth.
