CV-Library’s Head of Marketing successfully takes on Centrepoint charity challenge

Amanda le Gros, Head of Marketing at the UK’s leading independent job board, CV-Library, successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge over the weekend, raising nearly £1,000 for the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, Centrepoint.

Battling intense weather conditions, le Gros trekked a total of 25 miles over the course of the day, conquering three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks in an impressive 11 hours. The walk was arranged by the team at Centrepoint, CV-Library’s charitable partner for the year.

"I don't think I really appreciated how tough this challenge would be when I signed up! It was a really demanding hike and the weather conditions towards the end didn't help. Everyone's generous donations kept me going though and I'm confident the money raised for Centrepoint will make a real difference to the lives of young people."

Established in 1969 out of a church basement in Soho, Centrepoint shares similarities with CV-Library as a small start-up organisation that has grown exponentially. Now operating over 60 services nationwide, the charity provides 1,271 bed spaces as well as health and wellbeing support and life skills.

So much so that we’ve actually doubled our fundraising target halfway through the year. This particular challenge definitely sounded tough, but having worked with Amanda for nearly six years now, I knew her determination and dedication would pay off.”
