I-Motor currently manages over 700 dealer sites which have over 50,000 cars and gets 15 million page views in a single month. The company currently offers a 'Car Subscription Solution' to all their dealers. Along with Carly, I-Motor are promoting their service to dealers already working with Carly and any other dealership within Australia.
Carly is a public company and I-Motor is an independent company.
Their Car Subscription Solution service from these two companies will allow dealerships to have a new revenue stream and provide their consumers to search through cars already within the dealer's inventory.
This means that cars don't need to be marketed separately and consumers can go through the entire vehicle subscription process online.
“This deal with I-Motor represents a major step forward for Carly and car subscription in Australia, in terms of volume of cars, customer reach and simplicity,” said Chris Noone, Collaborate Chief Executive.
“For the first time, we are exposing a large supply of cars to customers who can subscribe online."
“Dealers now have a powerful new way of generating revenue from customers who may not be prepared to make a long-term financial commitment to a vehicle right now and otherwise may be lost.”
Tony Malby-Luke, I-Motor's Managing Director, stated that the subscription service model will bridge the instant ride need of Uber ride-hailing and the longer term ride needs of Hertz car rentals.
“Carly saw this gap as creating a ‘Netflix for cars’ where you can change the channel – or the car – as often as you want to based on repayments,” he said.
“So while it helps the customer get the car they need at any particular time, it also gives the dealers an instantaneous income."
“Subscription provides dealers with a new revenue stream for cars and enables new customers to be secured in this challenging sales environment without heavy retail discounting."
“It also helps dealers with slow-moving stock that may have attracted lower financial returns."
“Although the vehicles in the subscription service by the dealer will depreciate, it is more than offset by the income generated by the service."
“It won’t take long for people to be talking about this option where you can change your vehicle based on your budget as often as you like.”
Noone stated that online marketing is “an area of great focus for automotive dealers, despite the challenges of converting web traffic into foot traffic in the dealership and eventually into the sale of a vehicle.”
“The Car Subscription Solution solves each of these challenges by enabling the customer to complete the subscription process entirely online and offering a lower commitment alternative to an outright purchase of a vehicle, a loan or a long-term lease,” he said.
With their service, Carly can analyze a dealer's current inventory and begin offering them to consumers through the subscription.
Carly is Australia's first monthly auto subscription company that let's their consumers change the car they are driving to fit their needs and desires.
The company says their platform gives consumers choices from different brands and different cars types including luxury cars, SUVs, and hatchbacks.
The service doesn't have any upfront charges or required long contracts. Cars are all registered, serviced, and maintained and a customer can start, alter, or end their subscription whenever they would like.
I-Motor is a car consultancy company that helps OEMs and dealers with their online presence. They focus primarily on customer service and says they have a 93.7% customer satisfaction in the previous six months.
