Travvant, the largest independent market leader in outplacement, inplacement, and coaching, has announced the acquisition of Passion for WorkWith this acquisition, Travvant and Passion for Work will become one of the largest independent career guidance providers in Belgium.

Travvant specializes in both outplacement and career paths and now, with Passion for Work, takes over one of the market leaders in career guidance. As neutral service providers, both companies are independent of a larger HR group, so that the focus on the individual process is central. The search for good, high-quality career coaching coaches remains a major challenge in Belgium and that is the main focus of Passion for Work, which has existed for 12.5 years and was one of the pioneers in career guidance.

“With regard to career guidance, Passion for Work is one of the inimitable leaders in our country and by joining forces we can further expand that service. This is necessary because the demand is huge," says Roeland Van Dessel, Managing Director of Travvant. “The most important raw material in Flanders is knowledge and talent. It is a matter of investing in this and making full use of our talent. These efforts must come from individuals as well as from employers and the government.”

Individual career guidance has never been so popular

2018 was a record year for career checks in Flanders. More and more people are taking advantage of the advantageous rate for individual career guidance. People no longer wait until there is a concrete problem to develop themselves and to plan their career further. Individuals approach proactive coaches for tailor-made guidance, to develop their own talents and for advice on the balance between work and private life.

Coaching at the request of employers is also on the rise

Not only employees but also companies are more aware of talent and careers. The demand from companies for external guidance in outplacement, inplacement and coaching is greater than ever. People change jobs faster, but for companies it is cheaper to preserve talent than it is to recruit new candidates. Companies look to guard against collective redundancies by coaching or refocusing people within their company. Investing in talent through coaching by external experts such as Travvant and Passion for Work is becoming increasingly important for employers.

Recruiting talent is not enough

A career requires more flexibility from employees than in the past - that is why the responsibility of companies does not stop at recruiting employees.

“Employees must be able to refocus and find their way more easily. The traditional recruitment system will therefore give way to more sustainable individual coaching and supervision processes," says Annick Huybrechts, General Manager at Travvant.
