Copart, a worldwide digital car auction company, recently announced they will be expanding their facilities within Memphis, Tennessee.
Dallas-based Copart Inc. has added 35 acres to its existing 46 acres of storage capacity in Memphis, in order to meet increased demand from its buyers, according to a press release. The 5545 Swinnea Road location hosts vehicle auctions every Thursday at 12 p.m. In 2017, Copart added 19 acres of land at its Memphis location.
“Adding operational space to our Memphis location has provided us with further capacity to serve Tennessee,” said Copart CEO Jay Adair.
By offering more vehicles at the location, Copart hopes it will bring additional opportunities for auto enthusiasts, rebuilders, and other buyers. Eligible buyers can use the company’s patented VB3 online auction platform, Copart’s mobile app, or kiosks at the location to bid on available inventory during normal business hours.
“This expansion will allow us to provide the highest levels of service to our clients,” said Jeremy Dodson, general manager of Copart.
Copart, which was founded in 1982, has operations in more than 200 countries and has more than 125,000 vehicles available online every day. Copart offers services to process and sell salvage and clean title vehicles to dealers, dismantlers, rebuilders, exporters and, in some cases, to end users. Copart sells vehicles on behalf of insurance companies, banks, finance companies, fleet operators, dealers, and individual owners.
