Catriona Gray, who was Miss Universe 2018, was recently announced as the first Filipino person chosen to become a voice within Waze, the navigation platform.
Gray's voice is now available on the app, helping motorists navigate the roads while offering safety tips such as "Time to park the car and do the lava walk," Waze said in a statement.
“Being the newest voice on Waze enables me to share positivity to Filipinos who are on the road—going to school, work or wherever they need to be. I want to keep them inspired and help them find their way so that we can all be happy and remain optimistic, despite many challenges such as the traffic," Gray said.
With the beauty queen on board, driving experience in the country is "even more enjoyable," Waze Philippines country manager Sarah Rodriguez said.
Waze said it partnered with the country's largest bank BDO Unibank to launch Gray as the latest app voice.
