On Friday, September 27, dozens of young people and adults arrived at the Bicentennial Convention Center, in the north of Quito, where a job fair organized by Multitrabajos.com takes place. Forty companies, mostly private, offer approximately 4,000 vacancies for different positions from interns to managers.

The companies present are in various economic sectors such as financial, mass consumption, services, technology, sales, among others. Among the participating firms are Grupo El Rosado, Banco Internacional, Banco del Austro, Chevy Plan, Adecco, Alianza del Valle, and others. They look for different professional profiles. For certain positions they demand one or two years of experience, but others also offer training programs to start a professional career from scratch with professional growth plans.

The important thing is that the applicants show good attitude and openness to acquire new knowledge, recruiters agree. Sergio Vera, Commercial Director of Multitrabajos.com indicates that the main motivation of this fair is to connect young people with companies, since this age group “is one of the most vulnerable” when finding a job in the current economic context of the country.

However, the public present on Friday is of all ages. Vera estimates that between Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September, up to 20,000 people had attended. Admission is free.
