Snappcar is a peer-to-peer Dutch car-sharing platform intends to use this funding on growth and extra convenience. Furthermore, the Utrecht-based company aims to reduce the number of cars on the road in Europe with 5 million by 2020.
With this deal, the owner of the unmanned petrol pump becomes a direct shareholder in the car-sharing platform, including Co-Founder and current CEO Victor van Tol, Autobinck Group, the Danish start-up Founders and crowd funders.
The petrol station company aims to become a mobility player with a mix of car sharing, car lease, parking, public transport, and other sub-concepts.
Bert Gillis, Retail Director Benelux Tango, and Q8 said:
In addition to the 190 unmanned Tango petrol stations and a partner network of more than 750 petrol stations, we in the Netherlands want to focus partly on this service on new services.
The fuel station network company sees excellent opportunities in how society deals with mobility differently, such as less focus on car ownership.
