Hagerty, which says DriveShare is considered “the Airbnb of classic cars,” announced recently that DriveShare by Hagerty is now available to Canadian drivers visiting the United States. Previously, only U.S. licensed drivers could rent from DriveShare.
Now, Canadian and other international drivers will automatically receive liability and physical damage coverage as a part of the rental fees.
DriveShare now offers more than 2,000 vehicles across the United States.
Those include classic cars and trucks, modern muscle cars, luxury vehicles and SUVs.
Drivers can plan their trip online at driveshare.com or through Hagerty’s free Android or iOS apps.
International drivers must create a profile on DriveShare.com. Their driver’s license will be verified prior to rental, and drivers must be at least 25 years of age. They must meet DriveShare's renter eligibility requirements. Non-driving rentals are also available for display and special events.
"This is a big deal for both car fans north of the border visiting the States and for U.S. car owners who rent out vehicles on the app," DriveShare Senior Manager Steve Haas said in a news release.
