The 26th Property Portal Watch Conference was held in Madrid this past November; it was our largest event thus far, with 400+ C-Level leaders attending from 40 different countries around the world, among them, Eduardo Garbayo, General Manager at Spotahome Spain was interviewed by our founder and industry expert, Simon Baker.

Spotahome, a mid- to long-term online booking platform for home rentals, claims to be the easiest way to rent an apartment and/or rooms anywhere in the world.

Garbayo explained that users can rent a flat via their smartphone, "We send home checkers who go look at the house, take all the information they need to verify the listing so that the tenant can do the full booking online".

When the user makes a reservation, the property they picked is then blocked until the landlord responds to their request (up to 24 hours). Once the landlord accepts, their payment method is automatically charged.
