The long-stay room rental company Badi exceeded 300,000 rented rooms during the past year 2019, in mainly Barcelona, Madrid, London, Berlin and New York, with almost two million users, according to a statement.

The Barcelona-based startup last year added more than 192,000 new rooms to its platform and captured more than 85,000 reservation requests during that year, calculating that they received a request every two minutes.

Users of this room search platform -which takes its name from the English 'buddy', companion-, live in these rooms an average of 5.5 months, 28% more than in their competitors.

Barcelona, Madrid and London are the most demanded cities for a startup that this year has reached 125 employees, so it has almost doubled its team compared to last year.

Security in the reserve, one of Badi's keys

The Founder of Badi, Carlos Pierre, has considered that one of the keys of the company's growth is to have managed to create a platform that "guarantees a safe reserve process".

"In this sense, we have recently updated our reservation system, which offers more guarantees to both tenants and owners," Pierre added through a statement.

The emerging Barcelona company has completed several rounds of financing during its five years of operation that have allowed it to group 45 million euros of investments.

The last one, exactly one year ago, allowed him to capture 30 million in a round led by the US fund Goodwater Capital.
