The establishment of its office in Mexico comes along with a mobility data analysis project in the country, and a fleet of 200 electric cars and 500 hybrids.
Juan Andrés Panamá said that these vehicles will be incorporated into its current fleet and will come from the hand of two partners: Drive the future and Engie with the Renault Zero 2020 models and the BY5 brand e5.
"Any model, whether of Toyota Prius, Renault, Chevrolet or another, can be incorporated" and also if any Chinese car brand wants to join the project, it could do so.
“At DiDi, we believe that electric and hybrid vehicles will be essential for the future of mobility in cities. That is why we are starting this effort now, hoping to expand over time, ”said Juan Andrés Panamá, Operations Director of DiDi Mexico.
On the other hand, one of the incentives for electric trips is that for drivers, the service fee of 10% charged to the user on the platform will be eliminated, this will be maintained for at least 2020.
In addition, DiDi shared a preliminary analysis of data on its services in Mexico City. The goal was to provide solutions that help authorities address mobility challenges through a deep understanding of transport and mobility dynamics.
