Adecco has sold its telemarketing and contact center activities for companies, which it managed in the Spanish market through Extel Contact Center, to the company Analytics Business Solution (ABS).

This is collected information published by okdiario.com, which refers to an internal statement sent to the staff and cited by the CGT union.

Extel has more than 2,500 employees in its work centers in La Coruña, Málaga, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Alicante and Madrid.

Adecco affirms that this operation has been decided in terms of of “focusing its efforts and investments” in its strategic development areas in the field of Human Resources, and emphasizes that ABS is a company with “proven knowledge, sector experience and clear vocation of permanence and growth, which will allow the construction of a future project for its employees, customers and suppliers ”.

"Once the operation is finished, Adecco will continue to invest in the development of innovative solutions in the field of Human Resources, in which talent and technology will be the pillars in the value proposition for companies and workers," added the company.

An urgent meeting was held with the new management of Extel to inform about the plans and deadlines of the shareholders, with the requirement that they communicate the whole process to the workers and that they recognize the importance of their templates.

Tales of “bad management” at Adecco

According to the union, which has criticized the “lousy management” carried out by Adecco “with a multitude of lawsuits in the courts and complaints to the labor inspection, arising from labor breaches”, and an investigation opened by the UDEF for the management of the award of the service of the General Treasury of the Social Security.

CGT has informed that those responsible for Adecco have justified their decision before the workers affirming that the telemarketing sector is immersed in a series of changes that imply a technological development that they have not wanted to face because it was the only country where the group has investments in this activity.

Likewise, the union has ensured that “things have been done badly until the end”, in breach of the Workers' Statute, which obliges the company committees to be notified 15 days in advance of these operations.

Adecco has been involved in the denunciation of part of the trade union formation for the mass dismissal of sick people, applying article 52d of the Workers' Statute, something that has been denied from the company.
