The Randstad Foundation has carried out a study on the current situation of working women with disabilities in Spain in recent years, and has released its results on the occasion of the commemoration of Women's Day on Sunday, March 8th.

In carrying out this study, the Randstad Foundation took into account the latest data for people with disabilities from the INE, dating from 2018.

The Randstad Foundation highlights that 204,100 women with disabilities were working during 2018, the highest volume recorded since data became available. This is a figure that has increased by six-tenths compared to the previous year, in which 202,900 professionals of this type had a job. Since 2014, the first year of this study, the number of working women with disabilities has grown continuously, increasing by 26.6%.

On the other hand and regarding the employability rate, this study reveals that 25.2% of women with disabilities were working in 2018. As with the volume of these professionals, the employability rate has led a growth trend in recent years, increasing by 3.2 points since 2014.

This report has also taken into account the education averages of women with some type of disability - more than half of these professionals have secondary academic training, specifically 53.8%. On the other hand, women with disabilities who have higher education account for 38.6%, while the rest, 7.6%, have only primary training.

It is relevant to note that the volume of women with disabilities who have higher academic training has not stopped increasing in recent years, increasing by 52.5% since 2014.
