The leadership at OLX Brasil has wasted little time in getting stuck into the task of integrating its new purchase into its operations following the announcement of the Brazilian competition authority’s approval of the merger of Grupo ZAP earlier this week. Writing on Linkedin, group CEO Andries Oudshoorn outlined how the two companies would come together and create two business units to “increase our relevance in the Brazilian online real estate market, to digitize this sector and offer a more complete experience to users and partners.”
Lucas Vargas moves from CEO of Grupo ZAP to General Manager of the OLX business unit while Marcos Leite moves from his former position of Chief Operating Officer of OLX to General Manager of the ZAP+ business unit which encompasses portals ZAP and Viva Real as well as auxiliary businesses DataZAP, Conecta Imobi, Anapro, Inc Pro and Geoimovel as well as the financial branches of the ZAP business. Both business units will be under the umbrella of OLX Brasil which will be lead by Oudshoorn.
The OLX Brasil CEO used the article to echo themes from his presentation at the Global Online Marketplaces Summit back in June and outline what his company believes to be a huge opportunity in the Brazilian real estate market. The new combined business is expected to have 14 million listings, generate an average of 70 million visits per month and have 40,000 professional clients at its disposal to go after the digitalization of Brazilian real estate.
Enthusing about the opportunity that OLX Brasil and ZAP+ now have, Oudshoorn said: “We now have a scenario with enormous growth potential, bringing countless opportunities for the creation of integrated solutions that make the experience of buying and selling real estate simpler and safer.”
