Following in the footsteps of UK parking space letting agent parklet.co.uk, recently established Australian website rentmycarpark.com.au is aiming to provide a search portal for those looking to hire a car space, allowing property owners, landlords and property managers to advertise vacant spaces.
The website offers short and long term advertising subscriptions to private owners as well as companies. Its search facility allows users to find parking spaces by type, state and suburb. rentmycarpark.com.au is also offering free advertising for parking station owners until July 1.
The website is currently seeking corporate sponsors and state government support for its Australian Parking Station project, which it says will “reduce stress for drivers, provide maximum car park occupancy and create a national database of all parking station car parks nationwide”.
The database would provide location and contact information for parking stations along with hourly rates, operating hours, and other information such as early bird rates or the number of disabled parking spaces.
Managing director Michael Dunne says rentmycarpark.com.au “is committed to creating parking solutions for Australia, but we cannot do it on our own. We need the co-operation and help of all parking companies and local governments in order for this scheme to succeed.”
