UK property portal findaproperty.com has released its latest feature: the My Places distance calculation tool.
My Places works by asking property seekers to fill out a form that registers locations of interest - their gym or their children's schools for example - and then displays the distance between these locations and viewed listings, allowing users to decide whether properties are conveniently located.
findaproperty.com points out that the tool could also be useful for finding out whether a property is far enough away from an undesirable location, such as the unmentioned nuclear power station near this cottage in Kent.
My Places follows on from findaproperty.com’s "notes" tool, which allows users to make comments about listings in a pop-up box, added in August. New price reduction functionality was also added in July, as well as a recommendation tool in May this year.
