Latin American and Caribbean online real estate marketplace VivaReal has forged another partnership in Brazil, this time with the Lopes real estate brokerage.
The new partnership follows VivaReal’s move to offer Century 21 franchisees in Brazil a three-month trial of its service earlier this month.
A VivaReal blog post explains that Lopes has more than 6,000 independent brokers in Brazil, and that the website will be promoting over 10,000 resale properties from Lopes.
Lopes says it is the largest real estate brokerage and consulting company in Brazil. Its most recent financial statement puts its net income at BRL $17.5 million, up 66 percent from the third quarter of 2008.
VivaReal founder Brian Requarth had this to say about the new partnership:
“[Lopes] are trail blazers in using social media and the Web 2.0 to build their brand. How many publicly traded real estate companies have their own podcast, YouTube channel, several consumer blogs, while at the same time heavily engaging in Orkut, Facebook and Twitter? It is amazing to see such a large company be so nimble using new media. VivaReal is thrilled to partner up with such innovators in Brazil and we look forward to helping them sell more real estate.”
VivaReal operates across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and the US in Spanish, Portuguese and English. When VivaReal launched its vertical ad platform in July, it said its website was receiving 200,000 unique users per month and listed over 500,000 properties.
VivaReal also provides a website for expats interested in renting or buying property in 12 Latin American countries. It supports residential, commercial, and vacation properties for sale or rent and is the official website of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), which has over 15,000 members nationwide and acts as an advocate for increasing sustainable homeownership in the Hispanic community.
