2009 may be drawing to a close, but news of new mobile-based home hunting tools is still coming thick and fast, with two more releases announced over the past few weeks.
The first is a free iPhone and iPod touch application from US apartment portal apartmentfinder.com that allows users to find nearby apartments, contact agents, and email listings.
“Our new iPhone app delivers on our commitment to drive more leads, and the best value, for our advertisers,” said apartmentfinder.com president Marcia Bollinger. “We’re literally pushing their listings in their prospects’ hands, right at their fingertips.”
According to the apartmenfinder.com blog, the portal has generated over 1 million cell phone based leads since May this year.
The free application for iPhone and iPod touch finds nearby open houses that can be filtered by area, price range, and property type. Agent contact details are featured and driving directions have also been integrated.
homefinder.com first launched its mobile website in 2007. It says the release of an iPhone application is part of an effort to deliver qualified contacts to its 20,000 real estate agents, brokers and builder advertisers.
