ziprealty.com's iPhone application, released in December, has just been updated to include an augmented reality option.
The current US number five real estate website calls the augmented reality feature "HomeScan". A video of the app in action can be seen below:
ziprealty.com says the app will give home hunters access to listings across 4,000 cities and neighborhoods where the brokerage operates. A “radar” embedded within the app shows which direction to point the phone to see more homes for sale or recently sold properties, even if they are behind the user. Clicking on a listing shows all details, including prices, interior photos, square footage and third-party value estimates from Cyberhomes and eppraisal.
