US real estate portal homes.com has been reporting record-breaking figures since late last year. In November its traffic was up 88 percent over the previous year, and in January the portal stated its listings increased by over 2 million during the course of 2009, which is almost double what it had in 2008.
Now, homes.com says over 5.5 million home buyers visited the website in January, which is an all-time monthly visitor record. The portal is also touting recent comScore figures that put the homes.com and forrent.com network in third position amongst US real estate websites.
“Our top three ranking by comScore is validation of our efforts towards making homes.com the leading destination for consumers to find a home.” says Jason Doyle, vice president of the portal.
The most recent Hitwise ranking has homes.com moving up one place in January, but still puts it well down the top 10 list at number seven.
homes.com is also highlighting the use of its iPhone app, released last September.
According to the portal, over 2.2 million pages were viewed via the iPhone app in January - the highest total page views since its release. homes.com says that through its suite of apps and mobile websites, home buyers accessed more than 3.8 million mobile page views over the month, which is a 31 percent increase over December's total.
