US online brokerage ziprealty.com has entered into a partnership with Maponics to improve its property search and map display.
Maponics' neighbourhood boundary data will now form the backbone for ziprealty.com's local real estate guides, heat maps, and sales comparison information. The integration also means users will be able to search for properties by locally-known neighbourhood names.
"Our clients have told us that searching and comparing properties by neighborhood is essential to purchasing a home,” said Myron Lo, vice president of innovation at ziprealty.com. “After researching various providers, Maponics showed that they provided the best data and solutions to fit our needs."
Other property websites currently using Maponics' technology include trulia.com, roost.com, and homes.com.
ziprealty.com partnered with eRealInvestor in mid-Febraury to offer users a research tool aimed at buyers searching for investment properties. A week later, the website's iPhone application was updated to include an augmented reality option.
