UK portal inea.co.uk – the website of the Independent Network of Estate Agents – is now testing a feed to global property portal enormo.com.
inea.co.uk explains that feed tests are taking place this week, with image files to be added next week. According to the portal, its UK ranking on web metrics service alexa.com has risen from 107,000 to just over 54,000 over the last month. "The enormo.com link will help our continual web growth," inea.co.uk states.
inea.co.uk coordinator Trevor Mealham also told propertyportalwatch.com that the network has recently launched a petition requesting that private sellers be governed under UK law as applicable to estate agents. Mealham sums up the aim of the petition:
"Such a move will help agents to achieve fair commissions once again. The proposed petition follows the OFT's findings that the web should be used to the benefit of the consumer.
With the web widely available for all and with Google aiming to take rightmove.co.uk's listings next to private sellers, the government now need to protect consumer property buyers by introducing measures to remove rogue unregulated and unmonitored private sellers.
Agents and those involved in the industry will support such a long awaited move which could see an end or slowing of private sales sites that have no professional redress in place."
