Subscribers to realestate.com.au's electronic brochures and email alerts have been asked to watch out for scam emails after an apparent mailing list breach.
An email to realestate.com.au subscribers contains the following warning from Peter Wright, general manager of sales and operations:
"We have been informed of fraudulent activity using our electronic Brochure and Email Alert mailing list, where people are asked to send money to arrange an inspection on a featured property.
If you have receive these emails please DO NOT respond as they are a scam."
The email does not elaborate on how the mailing list was accessed.
This news comes in the lead up to the release of realestate.com.au's revamped website. propertyportalwatch.com understands the new website will be unveiled on 7 April.
