UK private rental property portal rentdirectuk.co.uk is aiming to attract prospective visitors with the promise that "the days of intimidating interviews at letting agent offices are over."
The website was first established in 2008 and has since attracted what it describes as an "underground following". Last week, rentdirectuk.co.uk was officially relaunched after taking on board suggestions from its registered users.
"rentdirectuk.co.uk means people no longer have to trawl classified advert websites that are often targeted by fraudsters and con artists," reads a statement from the website.
To use rentdirectuk.co.uk, landlords first need to register and submit the details of their property. Tenant contact details can then be purchased for subscription fees starting at £100 for six weeks. These subscription fees change depending on the size of the property the landlord wants to rent out.
rentdirectuk.co.uk says its creators are "seasoned ethical residential property practice professionals belonging to organisations such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and The Institute of Residential Property Management".
