REA Group has just announced the appointment of Arthur Charlaftis as general manager of sales and operations, effective 8 August.
The company says Charlaftis has extensive experience in sales and relationship management with major accounts and SME retail, medical and pharmaceutical companies. His previous role was vice president of primary care and stiefel at GlaxoSmithKline, where he was responsible for the commercial sales and marketing team of 250 people across a portfolio in excess of $400 million.
"I am pleased to welcome Arthur as part of my leadership team," says Greg Ellis, REA Group's CEO and managing director. "He joins a successful sales team where he will use his proven sales leadership experience to build greater relationships with our customers and deliver greater value to the real estate industry.”
This is the fifth new hire at REA Group this year, following on from Adam Joseph, Paul Simos as general manager of strategy, Simone Carroll as general manager of human resources, and Jennifer Macdonald as CFO. These hires come after a string of staff changes at REA Group over the past two years, which has included the departures of the company's Australian CEO, general manager of international business, CFO, and international sales operations manager.
