Zoopla.co.uk has announced that, in its first quarter of this year, the company has added nearly 1,200 new estate and letting agent branches to its website, bringing its total number of paying members to almost 12,000. Making this the largest quarterly increase in advertisers for the property portal since its launch four years ago. Zoopla now has 600,000 property listings available on its website.
Among some of the new agent groups to have joined Zoopla are: Beresfords (Essex), Dawsons (Wales), Farrell Heyworth (North West), Greenslade Newton Fallowell (East Midlands), Putterills (Hertfordshire) and Taylor Hunt (South West).
This recent increase is a combination of the growing shift from traditional printed media listings to online property advertising, Zoopla has the UK's second-largest online property audience.
“We’re delighted that so many estate agents and letting agents across the country are now choosing Zoopla as their portal of choice to get the exposure and enquiries that drive their business. It is a reflection of the investment that we have made and continue to make to ensure that we are the leading online marketing partner for UK property advertisers in terms of both value and service,” said Jon Notley, Commercial Director, Zoopla.
Chris Heyworth of Farrell Heyworth commented, “We are delighted to associate the Farrell Heyworth brand with Zoopla. Our initial levels of enquiries have been tremendous, providing our 20 offices with a quality stream of potential clients across the whole market. Particularly we have been impressed by their transparent, and value based pricing model and look forward to developing this already successful partnership over many years.”
Last week The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) gave its approval for the proposed merger between Digital Property Group Ltd and Zoopla Ltd to go forward. The transaction is expected to complete within the next few weeks.
