The Brazilian end-to-end property sales platform company AoCubo has a new big-name investor in the shape of Frontier Digital Ventures CEO Shaun Di Gregorio who joins other industry luminaries Simon Baker and Brian Requarth in backing the startup. The investment is thought to be Di Gregorio’s second in the Brazilian market in a personal capacity after previously investing in top property portal Vivareal.

As the founder of Frontier Digital Ventures, a venture fund that counts several market-leading classifieds portals around the world among its portfolio companies, AoCubo’s new investor brings a wealth of experience. Along with the advice of existing investors Di Gregorio is sure to help the Brazilian outfit kick on, a point that AoCubo CEO Ronnie Sang was keen to point out when we spoke to him:

“Having Shaun as an investor alongside Simon Baker and Brian Requarth brings an extra stamp of validation to our innovative business model. What these guys have done in the classified industry in different parts of the world is just amazing. With their assistance, we are confident that we can deliver the same kind of success, but now on the transactional model.”

Sang was one of the panelists of a recent Online Marketplaces Webinar in which he spoke about his company’s innovative transaction-based business model which has attracted such attention from investors. AoCubo is essentially a digital brokerage with a network of independent agents. The company aims to digitize property transactions and evaluate and pass leads to algorithmically matched agents via its uber-like platform known as the ‘iBroker’.

Sang also revealed to us this week that his company has recruited Amanda Cordeiro as AoCubo’s new Director of Customer Success. Cordeiro, who has ample experience in the industry having founded a CRM company and subsequently held management positions within Vivareal and rival portal Imovelweb, will be in charge of the department which deals with lead qualification. Speaking about the key role that his new employee will have in the development of the company, Sang told us:

“We are thrilled that Amanda has joined the team. She is very talented and does have a very special set of skills that fits perfectly with some of our current needs. She has brought major impact and delivered positive results at GrupoZap and SuaHouse in the past, and we are 100% sure she will do the same for AoCubo.”

He worked directly with hundreds of portals across the world in his role in the content department for three and a half years before transferring to the SEO department to understand the inner workings of listings sites. He joined Online Marketplaces as Head of Content in March 2020.
