Found, a mobile-only recruitment platform based out of Sydney, Australia, recently landed its second funding round,, securing $19 million in capital and announced the launch of a new recruitment program meant to encourage diversity in the workplace.
In an interview with The Australian, CEO Andrew Joyce said that Found received its funding through investors to accelerate growth of its jobs platform and further develop their diversity hiring technology, which has been brought on board by large corporations including the Australian Defence Force.
Joyce also said that Found is the first jobs platform in Australia to be introducing tech to target candidates with specific ads based on gender, location, cultural backgrounds and disabilities.
“Some ads are shown only to certain demographics, so one might be shown only to women, and one shown only to men. We can make jobs much more appealing to a minority, rather than broad brushing for everybody and it’s making job ads really much more relevant and approachable,” added Joyce.
Currently the startup claims to be processing nearly 300,000 job applications per month and that it has over 350,000 app so far.
According to Joyce, the ADF partnership was a bid to assist the military in processing applications from female candidates into what are considered to be male-dominated roles. With female participation targets of 25 per cent for the air force and navy and 15 per cent for the army by 2023, Joyce said that Found was assisting in hiring women for roles such as armoured cavalry, cargo specialists, marine technicians and military police.
