Australia-based all-female ride-share app SheSafe is set to launch its services in Victoria this coming April.
The service, similar to Uber and Shebah, was founded by wife and mother Emma Buchanan in late 2016. Similar to founder and CEO of Shebah, George McEnroe, Buchanan was inspired to create SheSafe after hearing the horror stories of women using Taxis and Uber.
Buchanan told WA Today that her primary focus is providing a safe ride-share alternative for women.
“Women and young girls shouldn’t have to feel scared about getting into a car and travelling,” she said. “there’s definitely a need there and it’s time for a change within the whole ride-sharing taxi industry.”
SheSafe is set to go live in Victoria in April with plans to have the service operating nationally by the end of 2017.
