Domain Group’s chief executive, Antony Catalano has stepped down from his position just months after listing on the Australian Stock Exchange.
The Domain board stated in an official announcement this Monday, that it had accepted the formal resignation of Catalano, who was appointed CEO of Domain back in November 2013.
Catalano first joined Fairfax Media in 1990 and has held a number of senior positions including Director of Real Estate at The Age and General Manager of Melbourne Property Guide.
Domain Group debuted on the ASX in mid-November of 2017, as a $2.2 billion company. Catalano stated that he needed to relocate from Melbourne to Sydney in order to keep up with the demands as CEO of a listed company, something he “wouldn’t ask” his family to do because of schooling and other obligations.
“I understand and regret that the timing of this decision is unusually short from Domain’s listing.
“But having been in the role for four years, I resign knowing that Domain has a great management team in place and I have every confidence in them and the business continuing on its current stunning trajectory,” said Catalano.
