Australian real estate website Rent.com.au has entered into an agreement with global insurer Chubb to help ensure renters’ home contents, via its product, Renter Cover, which should be available in Q1 2018.
Rent.com.au’ Chief Executive Officer, Greg Bader stated that research, conducted by Rent.com.au, has concluded that although approximately 30% of Australians rent their homes, a mere 45% of renters ensure their personal property and/or contents. Interestingly, among renters aged 18-39, nearly 75% have contents insurance.
Bader stated that Renter Cover combine’s the website’s knowledge of the rental market with Chubb’s insurance expertise.
Chubb is the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurer. With operations in 54 countries, Chubb provides commercial and personal property and casualty insurance, personal accident and supplemental health insurance, reinsurance and life insurance to a diverse group of clients.
